Saturday, October 6

6th Annual Purple Run | Six Flags Fiesta Texas, 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM

In honor of National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, The Battered Women & Children’s Shelter and the Kristine Meza Foundation are hosting this annual run aimed at bringing awareness of domestic violence. Bring the entire family and take a stand against this issue.

 

Margarita Pour-Off | Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium, 2:00 PM – 11:00 PM

Cold margaritas and live music – what else could you ask for? Various contestants will battle it out for the bragging rights of the best margarita in the city. This is one fall event that you won’t want to miss.

 

Thursday, October 11

Second Thursday at the McNay | McNay Art Museum, 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Enjoy a night of music, food and art at the McNay Art Museum. Bring a blanket and relax on their outdoor lawn as special musical guest, Big Cedar Fever takes the stage. Food from various food trucks will be available for purchase and beer from Community Beer Company can be consumed on the grounds. Furry friends from San Antonio Pets Alive will be up for adoption. Admission to the museum is free on second Thursdays.

 

Saturday, October 13

Chalk it up | Houston Street & Main Street, 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Take a stroll on downtown and watch it transform into a colorful chalk wonderland. Chalk it Up is an annual community event hosted by Artpace that encourages guests to use their imagination and cover the streets with chalk masterpieces.

 

Thursday, October 18

Taste of the Heights | San Antonio Zoo

Get a taste of Alamo Heights at this culinary event that benefits the organization, Asperger’s 101. Enjoy wine, cocktails, food, live music and more at the San Antonio Zoo.

 

Saturday, October 20

San Antonio Beer Festival

Fresh air and fresh brews will be flowing at the annual San Antonio Beer Festival. This year, the fest will be stationed at Dignowity and Lockwood Parks. More than 400 different beers from 125 breweries are up for grabs. Proceeds benefit the San Antonio Food Bank.

 

Animal Defense League’s 2018 5K Run & Kids 1K Trick-Or-Trot | 13102 Jones Maltsberger Rd., 78247, 8:30 AM – 11:30 PM

Four-legged friends and all are invited to the Animal Defense League’s 5K Run. Wear a costume or your best running gear and race to help homeless pets in the community.

 

Friday, October 26

ReDo Recess at The Doseum | The Doseum, 7:00 PM – 9:30 PM

Pumpkin spice lovers unite at The Doseum’s adult night, which is themed Fall Fest. Dress up in your favorite Halloween costume or keep it casual as you explore The Doseum’s rooms filled with interactive activities.

Mala Luna Music Festival | Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium
