SA 300 Commemorative Week
The joy and pride of San Antonio will vividly come to life during the Tricentennial Commemorative Week, May 1-6, 2018. Six solid days will be filled with educational, artistic, and entertaining events that showcase San Antonio’s unity amid diversity, and the ties that bind us all together to be one of the U.S.’s top cities. A few events to highlight are Founder’s Day on May 2; 300th Edition Mural Ride on May 4; and San Pedro Creek Celebration Day on May 5. Cinco de Derby | The Rustic, 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM
Cinco de Mayo and the Kentucky Derby are both on May 5 this year, so The Rustic is throwing a day-long party to celebrate. Start the day with Cinco de Mayo Brunch from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with free live mariachi music. Stick around after brunch for a Derby celebration including a Best-Dressed Costume Prize. And of course, The Rustic will continue the celebration after the Derby and the contest with more live music.
Sunday, May 6
Síclovía | Southside at Roosevelt Park, 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Siclovia will bring their family-friendly fitness event to the Southside with a special Tricentennial edition of the celebration. Bike, run, skate – play in the street! Síclovía turns city streets into a safe and fun place for exercise and play. The free event encourages San Antonio residents to get out, get active and explore their city.

SA Symphony: Disney in Concert – Pirates of the Caribbean | Majestic Theater, 7:30 PM
Watch the adventures of Captain Jack and his motley crew unfold in this thrilling adventure on the big screen while the San Antonio Symphony orchestra simultaneously performs the electrifying score of the sensational blockbuster. Tickets are $25 – $65.

GREASE Sing-A-Long | Aztec Theater, 3:00 PM
Does your mom love to sing a long to GREASE?! Then she will love this GREASE Sing-A-Long at the Aztec Theater. Doors open at 2:00 PM and the show begins at 3:00 PM. All ages welcome. concessions will be available at the theatre during the show.

Take mom to brunch at Second Sundays at Schilo’s. You’ll enjoy delicious German food with live music in downtown San Antonio.

Tejano Conjunto Festival | Rosedale Park
The Tejano Conjunto Festival features a Seniors Conjunto Dance, Hall of Fame Reception, and 3-days of live music at Rosedale Park located on San Antonio’s westside. A diverse audience can be found at the Festival from across Texas, the US, Mexico, Spain, the Netherlands and Japan. Last year, more than 30 bands and 185 musicians performed ranging in age from 7 to 78.

San Antonio FC vs. Tulsa Roughnecks FC | Toyota Field, 7:30 PM
Cheer on the San Antonio FC against the Tulsa Roughnecks FC at Toyota Field. This event is rain or shine and always fun! Ages 2 and up require a ticket. Parking is free at Heroes stadium.

Beatles vs Stones – A Musical Showdown | Sam’s Burger Joint, 8:00 PM

Texas Salsa Festival | Hemisfair Park, 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM
It’s time for the 2nd annual Texas Salsa Festival, benefiting the Hemisfair Conservancy. Enjoy a beautiful day at Hemisfair while sampling salsas and voting for your favorite. Plus, live music, Salsa dancing and demos, art, interactive games and children’s activities, and plenty of authentic local SA cuisine, cold beer, wine, aguas frescas and more for purchase.
